GERMANY: Following a European tender, on July 1 Berlin-Brandenburg transport authority VBB named incumbent Hanseatische Eisenbahn as the winner of the next contract to operate Netz Prignitz passenger services.
The contract runs for two years from December 2016, and covers the operation of local-authority funded train services totalling 222 000 train-km/year on the RB73 Neustadt (Dosse) – Pritzwalk and RB74 Pritzwalk West – Meyenburg routes. The current diesel multiple-units are to be used and the timetables will be unchanged.
