FRANCE: Alstom Transport announced on February 16 that it had received an order from SNCF worth €25m for an additional five Régiolis low-floor EMUs.
The option has been exercised on behalf of the Pays de la Loire region, which has already ordered 10 dual-voltage bi-mode trainsets as well as five dual-voltage EMUs.
Under a framework agreement signed in 2009 worth up to €7bn, a total of 171 Régiolis trainsets have been ordered so far by 11 regions including Pays de Loire. Part of Alstom's Coradia Polyvalent family, the first Régiolis was rolled out in June 2011.
With testing proceeding to schedule, the first series deliveries are due to commence in 2013. Final assembly is being undertaken at the Alstom plant in Reichshoffen, with Le Creusot supplying bogies, Ornans traction motors, Tarbes traction equipment and Villeurbanne onboard computer systems.
