INTERNATIONAL: The CEO of Siemens’ Mobility Division, Dr Jochen Eickholt, has been appointed Integration Manager to oversee the planned merger of Siemens' mobility business with Alstom, the company announced on October 4. He took up his new role with effect from October 1, following the announcement of the merger agreement on September 27.
Eickholt’s former responsibilities are to be covered by Sabrina Soussan and Michael Peter, who have been appointed joint CEOs of the Mobility Division. Soussan remains CEO of the Mainline and Urban Transport business units, responsible for rolling stock manufacturing, and also takes charge of the service business. Peter will continue to lead the Mobility Management business unit responsible for rail automation and traffic management systems, but also assumes responsibility for the turnkey solutions and rail electrification businesses.
‘Sabrina Soussan and Michael Peter have all the qualifications needed to successfully head the Mobility Division until its merger with Alstom’, said Siemens AG board member Roland Busch. Soussan has put Siemens’ high-speed and local and regional train businesses back on track, while Peter has very successfully managed our Mobility Management Business Unit. I’d also like to thank Jochen Eickholt for his successful work as CEO of the Mobility Division and wish him every success in the important task of merging the businesses of Siemens Mobility and Alstom.’
