EUROPE: Eddie Aston has left Genesee & Wyoming Inc, where was Chief Executive Officer of the UK/Europe Region. This includes British rail freight operator Freightliner, Freightliner Poland, Dutch shunting services company Rotterdam Rail Feeding and container logistics provider Pentalver.
Freightliner confirmed Aston’s departure to Rail Business UK on September 6, but no reason was given. He had been in the role since April 2021 having previously worked for various logistics companies including CEVA and DHL.
Becky Lumlock has been appointed interim CEO until a successor has been appointed and transitioned to the role.
A Freightliner spokesperson told Rail Business UK that Lumlock is ‘intimately familiar with the exciting new business strategy we have been rolling out across G&W UK operations’.
Lumlock has been a member of G&W’s majority shareholder Brookfield Infrastructure Partners since January. She previously worked for Network Rail for five years, most recently sitting on the Group Executive as Group Transformation Director, and before that was Managing Director for the Wessex Route.
She previously spent 22 years in the oil and gas industry.
