GHANA: Deputy Minister for Railway Development Kwaku Asante-Boateng has inaugurated a newly board of directors at the Ghana Railway Development Authority.
GRDA was formed following the Railway Act 2008 to advise the government on railway matters, create a regulatory framework with opportunities for private sector participation, and to act as regulator.
The new board is chaired by Dr Martin Amogre Ayanore. The other members are Asante-Boateng, Ernest Yaw Owusu, Ing Ernest Kwame Obeng, Michael Achagwe Luguje, Jonathan Kwasi Azasoo, Edwin Allotey Acquaye, Dr Emmanuel Adem Opoku, Sophia Abena Tijani and Fridoline Kwesi Bansah.
After administering the oath of office on September 15, the Deputy Minister called on the board to champion President Akufo-Addo’s vision to revamp and modernise the country’s rail network. He also encouraged the general public and all other stakeholders to provide GRDA with the support it needs to ensure sustainable development of the network.
