Following the appointment of Zdenek Žák as the Czech Republic's Minister of Transport, several personnel changes have been made within senior management at state railway CD and its freight arm CD Cargo.
Petr Žaluda, Chairman & General Manager of CD, was dismissed from all his positions on July 30 and replaced by Dalibor Zelený (photo), who previously headed the company between 1998 and 2003. He has also served as Director General of the Slovak rail infrastructure manager ŽSR and as Vice-President of UIC.
Daniel Kurucz, Chief Executive for Operations & Technology, and Pavel Švagr, Chief Executive for Personnel, join Zelený on CD’s new three-member board of directors, replacing Roman Bocek, Miroslav Šebena and Ctirad Necas.
On August 1, Žaluda was also removed from the post of Chairman & General Director of CD Cargo, which he had held on an interim basis since October 2012.
