POLAND: Pesa was the sole bidder for a contract to supply trams for a planned extension of the Szczecin network.
Part of Pesa’s Swing family, the 22 low-floor unidirectional trams will cost 150m zloty, including technical support. They will be 31·12 m long and 2 400 mm wide, with 40 seats and capacity for 200 passengers. Delivery is planned from October 2013 and March 2014.
The trams are needed for a 4 km extension on the east side of the River Odra. The city council has called tenders for construction and engineering supervision contracts for the extension project, which is expected to cost 230m złoty, including a 100m złoty contribution from EU sources.
