MOROCCO: Rabat city council approved two extensions to the city’s tram network on January 12.
Line L2 is to be extended at both ends. An eastern extension would add 4·6 km from the current Hassan II terminus in Salé to Avenue Zarbia. In Rabat, Line L2 is to be extended southwest from Hôpital Moulay Youssef to Avenue Al Kifah on a 2·4 km alignment.
The project cost is estimated at 1·72bn dirham. The Fund for Urban & Interurban Road Transport Reform will contribute 592m dirham.
