SPONSORED CONTENT: The rail industry gathered at AmberExpo in Gdańsk on September 24-27 for the 13th edition of the Trako trade show.
In addition to seven exhibition halls showcasing products and services for all sectors of the rail industry, several vehicles were on display outdoors. These included a Pesa Elf 2 electric multiple-unit for Koleje Wielkopolskie, a Stadler Flirt EMU for Koleje Mazowieckie and a Plasser & Theurer 09-3X tamper. Bombardier Transportation and leasing company Akiem launched a Traxx DC3 locomotive for Poland.
Nowy Sącz-based rolling stock supplier Newag displayed its new 36WEh bi-mode multiple-unit, as well as its Griffin and Dragon 2 electric locomotives.
Trams on view included a Modertrans Moderus Gamma for Poznań, a Stadler Tango NF2 nOVA for Ostrava and a Pesa Twist for Gorzów Wielkopolski.
Several conferences took place during the show. Topics included the way that new technologies are influencing the sector, market reform, and investment and financing for large projects.
Trako was also the venue for the 2019 edition of the Golden Chariot Transport Award. Among the award winners was Railway Gazette International, which won the award for the second time in five years for its contribution to the popularisation of the transport industry in mass media.
