UK: The Class 68 UKlight locomotives Vossloh is building for British freight operator Direct Rail Services are to incorporate cab audio warning systems developed by Lütze.
Designed to be used in place of piezo buzzer modules, the Lütze Audio Signal Transducer can record and play spoken alerts as well as warning sounds for signalling, vigilance and other alarm systems. On passenger vehicles it can provide multilingual announcements and messages.
The device can store up to 63 messages with a total length of 4 min as wav or mp3 audio files, with adjustable volume levels. Messages are uploaded using a hand-held unit. The module contains an amplifier as well as a broadband loud speaker, and can take input voltages of 24 V to 110 V DC, with a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C.
The Audio Signal Transducer is available for DIN rail mounting or wall mounting, and a version with an external loudspeaker can also be supplied.l
