MONGOLIA: Teltronic has deployed a Tetra communications network for the 240 route-km heavy haul railway which is under construction to link the Tavan Tolgoi coking coal mines with Gashuun Sukhait on the border with China.
The Spanish company has installed a complete communications system based on its Nebula infrastructure. This includes its CeCoCo control centre and call dispatching system with two operator stations, main and redundant control nodes, indoor and outdoor base stations, on-board radios for the 16 Progress Rail SD70ACeLW diesel locomotives, portable equipment for the maintenance vehicle fleet and desktop terminals for control, security and maintenance staff.
The equipment is designed to withstand the extreme temperature fluctuations and the sandy, windy environment of the Gobi desert.
