UK: Ticket retailer Trainline has announced a mobile app for Apple Watch, which it says will provide a ‘convenient and innovative new way for customers to check live train times, platform information, check their train is on route and access mobile ticketing straight from their wrist.’
The Apple Watch app connects to Trainline’s mobile app so users can buy tickets for collection at the station. The ‘Glance’ feature of Apple Watch will provide information such as the ticket collection code, journey time or map of the nearest station. Tapping will display live departures, train running and platform information.
‘We’re excited to be one of the first apps available for Apple Watch in the UK’, said Iain Hildreth, Director of Marketing at Trainline. ‘Mobile technology plays a hugely important role in today’s travel experience and our app has been developed with customer convenience in mind, delivering key information with a simple glance at the wrist. The device offers our customers personalised notifications in a simpler and more accessible way, making travel easier than ever before.’
