PAKISTAN: CRRC Tangshan has delivered a batch of 46 broad-gauge long-distance coaches for Pakistan Railways.
CRRC Tangshan was awarded a Rs31bn contract in November 2021 to supply 230 long-distance coaches and spare parts to Pakistan Railways.
Arriving in Karachi by ship on November 27, the vehicles are capable of operating at up to 160 km/h. Their interior is produced from environmentally friendly and lightweight materials. The seats and armrests are designed with ergonomic features, significantly improving the comfort of passengers, according to CRRC.
The export agreementsincludes local manufacturing and technology transfer; the remaining 184 coaches will be assmbled in Pakistan under the supervision of Chinese staff.
