SWITZERLAND: Two coaches which have been upgraded to provide a premium ‘Excellence Class’ on the tourist-focused Glacier Express service have been unveiled by operating partners Rhätische Bahn and Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.
The interiors were designed by Nose Design Experience, and refitting of the coaches provided by RhB and MGB was undertaken at RhB’s Landquart works.
The coaches feature 1+1 seating to ensure than all passengers get good views, along with an exclusive bar.
Revenue services are scheduled to start on March 2 2019, with the coaches operating on train GEX902 leaving Zermatt at 08.52 and GEX923/903 departing from St Moritz at 09.15.
