INTERNATIONAL: Iran’s Mapna Group has announced a 10-year co-operation agreement for the potential supply of wagons to a Polish company, which plans to deploy them across eastern Europe.
The deal announced on September 27 follows a year of negotiations with the unnamed company from Poland, which Mapna said was active in the metal and rail transport sectors.
It is envisaged that once the wagons have been certified by the EU Agency for Railways, Mapna’s Wagon Pars business would supply 100 vehicles in the first year, 200 in the second year and 300 wagons per year from the third year onwards
Mapna said these would the first European exports for Wagon Pars, which has previously supplied rolling stock to countries including Bangladesh, China, Syria, Sudan and Cuba and is now targeting international growth.
