FRANCE: SNCF has started ride comfort and dynamic testing with the RER NG double-deck EMUs which are scheduled to enter service on Paris RER Line D from the December timetable change. One of five pre-series units has been instrumented for a 10-week programme of test runs at up to 140 km/h
Île-de-France Mobilités ordered 255 trainsets from Alstom and Bombardier Transportation in 2016 to operate lines D and E, with deliveries expected to continue until 2027. Of these, 148 sets are to be deployed on Line D, replacing 134 Z2N units now 30 years old. The five pre-series units have been on test since mid-2020, and the first 15 series build units are expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2021.
