RUSSIA: RZD’s Federal Passenger Co and Transmashholding have unveiled a mock-up of the design concept for the next generation of platskartny dormitory-style third class coaches for long-distance services.
This is not the final design, and feedback on the proposal is being sought.
Compared to previous designs the coach would provide the 54 passengers with more comfort and personal space, with the berths widened to 620 mm and each having a light, USB socket and a table.
It also has a new interior colour scheme.
