RUSSIA: Wagon manufacturer RM Rail has obtained certification for its Type 11-1268 van design, and expects to begin series production in March.
The design offers an axleload of 23·5 tonnes, a capacity of 68 tonnes and a floor area of 52·8 m2. The wide-opening door is suitable for use by forklifts, and the walls have ventilation hatches. The design life is 32 years.
‘We present a model suitable for the transport of a wide variety of packaged goods’, said Alexander Kulikov, RM Rail’s Deputy General Director, Sales. ‘Its maximum capacity is 42 europallets, the largest number in the 1 520 mm gauge area. This, as well as other design improvements, makes operation of the van type the most profitable among its 23·5 tonne axleload counterparts.’
