UK: Translink has awarded CAF Rail UK a contract to continue to maintain NI Railways’ fleet of 23 Class 3000 diesel multiple-units which entered service from 2004.
The new contract runs for 15 years from April, and is worth more than €60m.
The work will be performed at the York Road and Adelaide sites in Belfast.
CAF is currently manufacturing an additional 56 intermediate cars for NI Railways’ Class 4000 DMUs, which were supplied under an order placed in 2009.
