UK: The Rail Safety & Standards Board is seeking industry views on the extent to which revisions to EU Technical Specifications for Interoperability should be reflected in National Technical Specification Notices for Great Britain.
NTSNs define the technical and operational criteria that rolling stock, infrastructure and some components must meet to ensure interoperability, replicating functions which were provided by TSIs until Brexit.
TSIs are currently undergoing an update through the 2022 Digital Rail and Green Freight TSI Revision Package, with EU Member States expected to vote on final versions in November. RSSB is now seeking feedback on incorporating these revisions into the NTSNs.
Comments are invited by September 23, and will inform the drafting of the revised NTSNs. A second industry consultation on the proposed changes is planned for early 2023.
