UK: DB Cargo UK has appointed Marie Hill to the new role of Chief Transformation & Digitalisation Officer, heading a Transformation Team which has been formed to work across the business to develop and implement plans for a ‘step change’ in the use of technology to improve operational effectiveness and customer service.
‘I believe that by accelerating and expanding our digital capabilities we will significantly improve the quality of the services we can offer to both existing and new customers’, said CEO Andrea Rossi on January 19. ‘The technological landscape continues to change rapidly and Marie’s role will be to develop and implement a roadmap that maximises future opportunities to improve the way we do business with our customers.’
Hill has been head of IT since January 2017, and is now a permanent member of the UK board. She said the coronavirus pandemic had highlighted ‘the pivotal role digital technologies have to play in supporting modern business’, and the creation of the Transformation Team would ‘ensure we make the best use of those technologies in all areas of our business, improving our overall effectiveness and efficiency’.
