UK: A construction site access control system which uses non-contact facial recognition is being tested by Brent Cross West station contractor VolkerFitzpatrick.
Testing of the technology developed by InnDex and Touchbyte is backed by Innovate UK’s Covid-19 support fund.
‘We believe this is the first fully UK-developed and manufactured 100% non-contact facial recognition access control unit predominantly aimed at construction sites and facilities management’, said InnDex Director George Smithies. ‘We open our phones and travel between countries all with our face. Why shouldn’t we access our construction sites and provide proof of presence using our faces?’.
Other companies interested in testing the technology are invited to contact InnDex.
