UK: Freightliner has developed a rail freight training academy in Ispwich to support the roll out of ERTMS.
The operator has leased the seventh floor of MCR Property Group’s St Vincent House office building, which offered ‘a blank canvas within which to create a unique space that met all of our needs’, according to ERTMS Operations Specialist Craig Evans.
‘Suffolk is an important location for us, with our train crew and maintenance facilities located in Ipswich as well as being close to the port of Felixstowe. The Ipswich site will be critical for Freightliner in delivering training as part of the East Coast Digital Programme, the initial role out of ERTMS on the East Coast Main Line South.’
