UK: High Speed 2 project promoter HS2 Ltd has shortlisted three bidders for the £500m Phase 2a Design & Delivery Partner contract.
This covers management and co-ordination of contracts for the detailed design and construction of the 58 km route from the northern end of Phase 1 at Fradley in the West Midlands to Crewe in Cheshire. This will include two tunnels, 17 viaducts and 65 bridges.
The shortlisted bidders are:
- 2 Connect JV: AECOM/Costain Integrated Services;
- AMS JV: Atkins/Mace/Systra;
- Jacobs UK.
HS2 Ltd expects to announce the winning bidder in summer 2022.
‘The Phase 2a section of HS2 is a major investment in the region’s future low carbon transport infrastructure, that will provide an essential link between the West Midlands and northern England’, said Procurement & Supply Chain Director Andrew Cubitt on October 20.
