UK: KM Tools has designed and manufactured multiple SmartLine Jigs which Alstom’s Derby plant is using to assemble Innovia 300 monorail trains for export to Cairo.
The Staffordshire-based company is also providing 24/7 on-site maintenance support for the jigs.
‘We are thrilled to be part of this significant, multi-national project that has both economic and environmental benefits’, said KM Tools CEO Mark Brickhill. ‘Our extensive experience in the rail sector has been invaluable in meeting Alstom’s production line requirements. It is exciting to be supporting a real domestic manufacturing success story.’
KM Tools has previously supplied jigs for the welding and assembly of Aventra multiple-units, and manufactured erection and water test rigs.
‘We have developed a close working relationship with Alstom, which has been a driving force in our technical involvement at Derby’, said Sales Manager Neil Harrison.
