UK: After two years of R&D and testing in live environments, Tended has obtained Network Rail product acceptance for its wearable technology which is designed to improve the safety of trackside workers by enabling them to map out safe and unsafe zones using geofencing.
If workers leave a safe zone or approach an unsafe zone boundary, they are alerted via a small wearable device, helping them to regain situational awareness
The supplier says its satellite technology offers centimetre-level accuracy without any additional infrastructure requirements.
Dashboard analytics provide breach statistics that help formulate evidence-based safety improvement policies.
Tended is working with Unipart Rail to supply the system by sale, hire or lease as a managed service, including end-user and administrator training, logistics and nationwide distribution, real-time 24/7 support and proactive maintenance.
