UK: Serco has named Kathryn Darbandi as the next Managing Director of Scotland to London overnight train operator Caledonian Sleeper.
Darbandi is currently Executive Consultant, Transformation & Strategy, at Travel Leaders Group. Her previous roles have included Director of Retail & Customer Experience at Thomas Cook, and Director of Retail, Contact Centres & Financial Services at TUI Travel.
‘She brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the travel business, with a strong focus on leadership and customers’, said John Whitehurst, Managing Director of Serco’s Transport business, on October 20.
‘The Caledonian Sleeper is a world class service with a first class team of people and I am excited at the prospects for the service over the coming years’, said Darbandi.
She is due take up the role in January 2021, succeeding Ryan Flaherty who is moving to another Serco business unit. ‘He has done a tremendous job over the past few years overseeing the introduction of the fleet of new carriages, which has been very challenging’, said Whitehurst. ‘He moves on to his new role with my thanks and gratitude.’
