UK: Nigel Stevens has been appointed as Chair of Transport Focus, the arm’s length body of the Department for Transport which acts as the independent statutory consumer watchdog for rail passengers in Great Britain; bus, coach and tram passengers in England outside London; and all users of the Strategic Road Network in England.
Stevens spent 20 years in the Royal Air Force, attaining the rank of Wing Commander, and he was Managing Director of Transdev London in 2006-09, CEO of Transdev UK & Ireland in 2009-18 and COO of UK & Ireland at Keolis Group in 2019-21.
‘Transport Focus champions the needs of users across the transport network; a role that has never been more critical than at this the exciting time of change for transport’, he said when his appointment was announced on May 16. ‘I am particularly looking forward to working with Great British Railways to help in ensuring that it delivers a truly passenger-focused railway.’
