UK: The Office of Rail & Road has published updated guidance on the Railways & Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006, following a review of how the guidelines work in practice.
ROGS provides the regulatory regime for rail safety, including main line railways, metros, light rail and heritage lines,. The guidance has been updated to explain the main changes that were made when the UK left the European Union, and to show all past changes in one document for ease.
ORR said there was no change to what businesses are required to do, but clear guidance would support continuous improvement in railway safety.
The consolidated report also incorporates stakeholder feedback from a recent post-implementation review of ROGS.
ORR is now working with the rail industry to meet a desire for greater guidance on the interactions between ROGS and other regulations.
