UK: Will Godfrey has been appointed as the Office of Rail & Road’s Director of Economics, Finance & Markets with effect from early June. He returns to ORR 17 years after leaving as Head of Competition Economics.
Godfrey is currently a Director on the Price Review at water regulator Ofwat and previously worked for Ofcom, and has an analytical background in regulation, competition policy and consumer protection.
He ‘brings a wealth of experience to this key role where he will be leading our periodic review of Network Rail, overseeing financial monitoring and steering our competition work’, said ORR Chief Executive John Larkinson on April 19.
‘With so much going on in the rail industry including reform and recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic, his skills will be invaluable in ensuring ORR remains well equipped to support the industry during this critical time of change.’
