UK: The Railway Industry Association has announced its Unlocking Innovation event programme for 2023.
The programme is supported by Network Rail and the UK Rail Research & Innovation Network. It starts with an Unlocking Innovation — Rail Freight event in Doncaster on February 22.
This will be followed by the RIA Innovation Conference in Nottingham on March 28-29. The theme is Delivering the Benefits of Innovation, and new features will include Exhibitor Spotlight and Student Challenge sessions.
Weather resilience will be the focus of the programme in April, electrical innovation in May, and Scotland in June.
RIA is also to launch its third Innovation Perception Survey to obtain a better understanding of the state of play, while a Data & Digital Capabilities for Rail report later this year will look at supply opportunities and gaps in railway policy.
‘We would like to invite all innovators, whether they already work with railway clients or are considering exploring the potential of rail, to engage with RIA’s Unlocking Innovation programme’, said RIA Innovation Director Milda Manomaityte.
