Heathrow Connect Class 360 EMU

UK: Rail Operations (UK) has purchased Heathrow Airport Ltd’s fleet of fleet of five Siemens Class 360/2 electric-multiple units, along with spare parts.

The Class 360/2 EMUs were previously used to operate Heathrow Connect stopping services between Heathrow Airport and London Paddington station. The service was launched in 2005 and ended in May 2018, when it was absorbed into the TfL Rail concession ahead of becoming part of the Elizabeth Line when the Crossrail project is completed. The Class 360s were withdrawn in 2020.

‘ROUK have identified the potential of this well-maintained multiple-unit fleet to assist in our transformation of UK rail freight logistics’, said Business Development Director Gordon Cox on February 16.
