UK: Network Rail has awarded Siemens Mobility the contract to deliver Phase 3 of the Victoria resignalling programme. This covers the area between London Victoria and Streatham Hill, plus the West London Line from Clapham Junction towards Shepherd’s Bush.
As principal contractor, Siemens Mobility will be responsible for taking the project through GRIP stages 5-8, including all signalling, telecoms, civil engineering, electrification and plant, trackside 650 V feeder and associated principal supply points and associated track works.
The company will supply its WTS digital signalling with Trackguard Westlock interlockings, as well as providing a Controlguide Westcad Insight traffic management system at the Three Bridges Rail Operating Centre offering dynamic route setting and digital conflict resolution.
Final commissioning is scheduled to take place during a nine-day blockade over Christmas and New Year 2022.
‘Having already delivered phases 1 and 2 of the Victoria upgrade programme, we are delighted to now be working with Network Rail and our supply chain partners on this next phase’, said Rob Morris, Managing Director of Siemens Mobility’s Rail Infrastructure business in the UK, on March 23. ‘Our UK-based teams will be working across a wide range of disciplines, with work having already begun on detailed design and enabling work.’
