LNER has awarded Tracsis a £3·5m contract to supply a stock and crew operational management system
As principal contractor for Network Rail’s CP6 Kent Outstation Remote Terminal Unit replacement programme, Lowery has awarded Sella Controls a contract to design and supply more than 50 Tracklink RTUs based on off-the-shelf Mitsubishi Electric technology.
The £20m station at Reston on the East Coast Main Line in Berwickshire is to open on May 23, Scottish Transport Minister Jenny Gilruth announced on April 12.
Mark Goodall is to join CrossCountry in early summer as Service Delivery Director, with full responsibility for operational strategy. Goodall joins from Chiltern Railways where he was Operations Director, and has previously held senior operational roles including Head of Alliancing at West Midlands Trains.
The ‘Rail to Refuge’ scheme, which covers the cost of train tickets for women, men and children escaping domestic violence, has been extended. It has been used by an average of four people a day in the two years since it was launched.
Eurotunnel has selected the Salesforce Marketing Cloud customer relationship management platform to support more personalised engagement across multiple channels. ‘Enhanced customer knowledge is our priority’, said Eurotunnel Chief Commercial Officer Deborah Merrens. ‘It enables Eurotunnel to better serve passengers, to drive their loyalty and to acquire new customers. The partnership with Salesforce will allow Eurotunnel to go further in each of these areas by providing more targeted and relevant offers to Le Shuttle’s affluent international traveller base particularly in the travel, automotive and lifestyle sectors.’
Network Rail says that 67% of its suppliers have now signed up to the Science Based Targets initiative to reduce their carbon footprint. Around 97% of Network Rail’s emissions are within ‘scope three’, meaning they largely come from third parties including suppliers. To address this, Network Rail’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy includes a target for 75% of suppliers to have their own science-based targets by 2025.
On April 12 the Financial Reporting Council announced that it had commenced an investigation in relation to the audit conducted by Deloitte LLP of the financial statements of Go-Ahead Group plc for the years ended July 3 2021, June 27 2020, June 29 2019, June 30 2018, July 1 2017 and July 2 2016. The decision was made at a meeting of the FRC’s Conduct Committee on 22 March 2022. The investigation will be conducted by the FRC’s Enforcement Division under the Audit Enforcement Procedure.
