UK: GB Railfreight and leasing company Porterbrook have placed an order for Greenbrier Europe to supply 50 JNA 60 m3 capacity four-axle box wagons for transporting construction materials.
The first 25 wagons will be delivered from the factory at Arad in Romania in September this year, and the remaining 25 wagons the following month.
Announcing the order on March 15, the companies said they had seen a ‘sharp growth’ in rail freight demand, and research which Porterbrook had commissioned from IPEX projected that construction sector traffic could increase by up to 35% between 2022 and 2034.
