San Francisco Bay area transport operators including Caltrain and BART are providing free travel to and from coronavirus vaccination centres. ‘Since the onset of the pandemic, Caltrain has helped ensure essential workers and transit-dependent riders can remain mobile and get to where they need to go’, said Michelle Bouchard, Chief Operating Officer, Rail. ‘By offering free rides to and from vaccinations, we hope to remove cost barriers so that everyone across the three counties we serve has access to the vaccine.’

The current collectors will use moulded resin components to reduce weight by more than 15%.

WeMaintain has signed a four-year contract to supply operating concessionaire KeolisAmey Docklands with Internet of Things predictive maintenance technology for lifts and escalators on London’s Docklands Light Railway. ‘Once our IoT sensors are installed on all of the DLR’s 86 lifts and 30 escalators, we will be able to provide KAD with early warnings of possible equipment failure, allowing us to react and resolve an issue with speed and efficiency that wasn’t previously possible’, said WeMaintain’s UK Managing Director Tom Harmsworth.

Chicago’s Metra has named Kevin McCann as its next Chief Operating Officer with effect from July 1, when current COO Bruce Marcheschi retires. McCann is currently head of the agency’s Mechanical Department, having risen through the ranks.
