ISRAEL: Czech company AŽD Praha has signed a framework contract covering the supply of turnout monitoring and diagnostic equipment to Israel Railways. The agreement runs for three years with the possibility of a three-year extension, with ISL able to order equipment as required.

The diagnostic system is designed to provide an overview of the electrical and mechanical condition of turnouts without interfering with the existing signalling and control systems, giving the operator advance warning of maintenance requirements and alerting it to any failures.

‘This is a very prestigious project for AŽD Praha and we believe that we will convince the customer not only by the quality of our technology, but also by our professional approach’, said CEO Zdeněk Chrdle, adding that the company was also hoping to participate in future railway projects in Israel.
