INDIA: Titagarh Firema has won a contract to supply 51 two-car trainsets for the Pune metro project, Housing & Urban Affairs Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra announced on August 14.

The aluminium-bodied trainsets will be assembled in India and will run on the two lines being developed in Pune. Alstom is supplying CBTC signalling under a contract awarded earlier this year.

Line 1 will connect PCMC and Swargate on a 16·6 km alignment with five underground and nine elevated stations. The 14·7 km elevated Line 2 will run from Vanaz to Ramwadi, serving 16 stations.
