USA: New Jersey Transit has awarded incumbent Bombardier Transportation a new $296m contract to operate and maintain the River Line diesel light rail service. The contract runs for 15 years from March 14 2015, with an option for a further five years.
Bombardier has operated the 55 km River Line through its subsidiary Southern New Jersey Rail Group since the route opened in March 2004.
