THE LATEST addition to the Blue Series of books from the Association of German Transport Undertakings looks at local and regional railway track in Germany.
Stuvas, the Research Association for Underground Transportation Facilities, acted as overall editor and co-ordinator for the project, producing a 672-page volume summarising the collective knowledge gained from the four full metros and 59 tram and light rail networks on five gauges which are in operation across Germany.
Topics covered include design concepts, noise and vibration, maintenance, safety and economic aspects. The book is fully bilingual in German and English.
