SPAIN: Alstom and the Madrid Asperger Association have signed a partnership agreement for people with Asperger syndrome to undertake pre-occupational professional internships at the company’s sites in Spain.
This will include theoretical training and practical internships at Alstom’s Railway Signalling & Safety Centre in Madrid, where participants will focus on verification and validation.
Each trainee will have two tutors. One appointed by Alstom will guide participants and develop the internship plan, while a tutor appointed by Asperger Madrid will be in charge of taking into account the requirements of the position and the individual needs of each participant.
‘Inclusion is one of our corporate values and a strategic priority for Alstom’, said Reyes Torres, Human Resources Director at Alstom in Spain. ‘This agreement allows us to establish a framework of co-operation with the objective of promoting an inclusive corporate culture, while at the same time allowing persons with an autism spectrum disorder to do real professional internships in inclusive environments.’
