INTERNATIONAL: Knorr-Bremse has acquired on-train sanitary system manufacturer Evac, which has supplied more than 100 000 toilets to customers in over 40 countries in Europe, the USA and China.
‘Through this acquisition, Knorr-Bremse will become a world leading manufacturer of integrated sanitary systems for passenger trains’, said Dr Jürgen Wilder, executive board member responsible for the Rail Vehicle Systems division, on June 1. ‘This market segment will be characterised by above-average high growth opportunities in the coming years.’
Evac Group was founded in 1968 and now has 192 employees at its headquarters at Wedel in Germany and the Monogram Train business in California. It has annual sales of around €45m, of which 40% is aftermarket business.
