INDIA: Rolling stock manufacturer BEML and consultancy RITES have signed a memorandum of understanding to to explore and jointly bid for opportunities in the metro sector and rolling stock export market.
RITES will provide design, engineering, marketing and any other support that may be required for tapping domestic and overseas opportunities, while BEML will be responsible for manufacturing of customised rolling stock.
Announcing the MoU on December 16, the two companies said this would allow them to leverage each other’s expertise to expand on a global level, offering a full spectrum of services from design and manufacturing to operations and maintenance.
