GERMANY: Ermewa Group’s wagon manufacturing and repair business Inveho has signed a contract to acquire Villmann Group’s wagon workshops in Brandenburg, Niedersachswerfen and Altenburg with effect from January 1 2021.
This will take Inveho’s network to six sites in France and three in Germany. Managing Director Julien Mathiaud said Inveho is seeking to become the leading European network for the manufacturing and maintenance of wagons, and combining the in-depth know-how of the French and German teams would help to promote innovation in fields such as digitalisation which require substantial investment.
Inveho currently employs 400 people at its French locations and is expected to generate sales of €90m in 2020.
The 450 employees at the three Villmann Group sites will continue to be employed on current terms, and existing business relationships will continue. ‘We look forward to being part of a large European maintenance network’, said Managing Director Ines Villmann-Doll on December 4. ‘Employees and customers alike will benefit from the collaboration.’
