Traktionssysteme Austria has awarded Cegelec a €3·8m contract to supply electrical testing equipment.
Japanese company Nippon Signal Co has established Nippon Signal Technology Taiwan Co to support expansion in the Taiwanese market, strengthen its local engineering capabilities, increase local content and to improve collaboration with local partners.
TMH International and Maydex CEO Patrick Landau have established TMH Israel as a 70:30 joint venture to serve the Israeli rail and urban transport markets in partnership with local companies. ‘We believe that the Israeli railway industry has a great potential for growth, and, as an industrial investor, we want to take part in the national effort to improve and expand Israel’s railway system’, said TMH CEO Kirill Lipa. ‘The company is determined to create a thriving and complete railway industry here, which will also be reflected in the creation of jobs, and an increase in the local supply chain.’
Michael Donfris has joined RJ Corman Railroad Group as Chief Financial Officer. He has held previous roles at Flowserve and Trinity Industries.
FS Group has issued a €250m 10-year bond with the proceeds earmarked for rail infrastructure investments. The Italian state railway said it had ’seized the opportunity of a good market window, where Italian government bonds hit a record low’. The bond was fully underwritten by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, and Credit Agricole CIB acted as sole bookrunner.
As part of Kazakhstan’s privatisation programme, Transportnye Tekhnologii has acquired a 30% stake in the Aktobe Rail & Section Works from Remlokomotiv, national railway KTZ’s holding company for its stakes in suppliers.

Mena Kubba has joined design firm Architectus as a Senior Associate in Melbourne. She is Linewide Lead for Stage One of the Suburban Rail Loop project, where Architectus is working with the Aurecon, Jacobs and Mott MacDonald consortium as part of the architectural, urban design and BIM Team. Andrew Shields has been appointed to lead the Suburban Rail Loop project for Architectus, moving from Sydney where he was Project Principal on the detail design of Sydney Metro’s Barangaroo station.
