Alpha Trains says emissions reductions and offsetting enabled it to be carbon neutral between July 1 2019 and June 30 2020, making it the first private rolling stock lessor in continental Europe to achieve this goal. It has reduced its CO2 emissions by investing in modern office buildings, updating IT, reducing travel emissions and using renewable energy to power its offices. Carbon credits were purchased to offset unavoidable emissions, and it is working with Carbon Footprint Ltd to invest in wind power in India.
Bombardier Transportation has rolled out the 5 000th Flexx bogie frame from the assembly hall at its Savli site in India. The site has also produced around 3 000 complete bogies for local and international projects since commercial production at the site began in 2008.
