Stadler’s Berlin-based subsidiary Stadler Pankow has been renamed Stadler Deutschland. ‘We are taking into account the development of our company by adding our focus on the German market to the name’, explained CEO Jure Mikolčić. ‘Stadler vehicles are currently running in 15 Lander between the North Sea and the Alps. From 2022 our trains will be everywhere in Germany.’

CRRC has launched a China Bookshelf project to create ‘mini libraries’ across the world containing books on Chinese culture and its rail industry. It has started in Australia, with 275 non-fiction books delivered to the staff lounge at CRRC Times Electric in Melbourne where they can be shared by employees, and 300 books available to the public from a community library. ‘By actively engaging with partners locally, CRRC strives to jointly build a community of shared interests and harmonious development with local government, businesses and communities’, the company said.

Ticket retailer Trainline has appointed Champa Magesh to the new role of as President, Trainline for Business. She will be responsible for the business travel market, and for the white label business which supplies Trainline’s proprietary technology for rail operators’ bespoke online and mobile platforms. Magesh was previously Executive Vice-President of Retail in Travel Channels and Managing Director EMEA at Amadeus.
