Vibration isolation specialist Getzner Werkstoffe has reported stable business development in 2022, with growth of 12% and turnover of €150m. ‘Particularly in the railway sector, we were able to expand our market presence to a gratifying extent in 2022 despite higher prices of primary products’, said CEO Juergen Rainalter. ’The raw materials situation was not easy, but thanks to forward planning we were able to cope with that as well. On the one hand, we work with multiple suppliers on the basis of long-term supply contracts. This gives us a certain security of supply. On the other hand, we made smart use of our storage capacities.’

Having won a tender for the management of advertising space at Lisboa’s Oriente station, JCDecaux Portugal has installed a double-sided 12 m2 LED screen which is expected to provide high-impact exposure to 54 million passengers/year. 

The Greenbrier Companies has reported orders for 4 500 wagon units worth $580m in its Q2 to February 28. It had a backlog of 25 900 units with an estimated value of $3·1bn. Adjusted EBITDA for Q2 was $98m.

RENFE has awarded CYMI, Sando and Ibenergi a €7·4m contract to install photovoltaic panels at its  Fuencarral, Santa Catalina and Villaverde depots in Madrid and La Sagra near Toledo, and Electromur a €1·6m contract for Zaragoza, Can Tunis (Barcelona),  Buñol (València) and Málaga. The project is expected to recover its outlay in just over three years.

Alstom factory at Trapaga

Alstom is to expands its use RapidResponse software from Kinaxis to support industrial and supply chain planning across more than 50 rolling stock and component manufacturing sites. ‘In these times of disruption, it is necessary for many companies to be agile to deal with the unexpected and to be able to get an immediate view of business risks and opportunities’, said Kinaxis CEO John Sicard. ‘This is exactly what our solutions allow Alstom to achieve.’

US transport planning, design and construction services company Urban Engineers has obtained ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification from Perry Johnson Registrars.
