USA: Track maintenance equipment lessor RELAM has expanded with the acquisition of Wisconsin-based road-rail vehicle sales, rental and support company Wiskerchen.
Announcing the deal on January 5, RELAM said it has identified road-rail vehicles as a core product category in its long-term growth plan, and the acquisition would make it a leading rental provider in the North American market.
Wiskerchen Truck & Equipment and Wiskerchen Rental & Leasing were established by Rob Wiskerchen in 2014, and he has agreed to stay with the company for an extended period to assist with the transition.
‘As the first client to work with Rob when he founded the company, RELAM has been a long-standing supporter of Wiskerchen’, said RELAM CEO John Roberts. ‘We’ve recognised the robust demand for Wiskerchen’s products and feel it validates RELAM’s goals to expand our presence in the hi-rail truck market. We’re thrilled to bring this partnership full circle.’
