RUSSIA: Rolling stock manufacturer Transmashholding has announced a 44% year-on-year increase in sales to 224·8bn roubles for 2018.
Sales of single-deck coaches were up 62% to 696, while sales of double-deck coaches were up 59% to 65. The company launched a major project to update its range of coaches, and a framework contract for up to 3 730 of the new vehicles was signed with Russian Railways’ long-distance subsidiary Federal Passenger Co in February this year.
The number of EMU cars sold was up 33% to 394, including deliveries of Ivolga EMUs to Central Suburban Passenger Co in Moscow. There was a 57% increase is sales of metro cars to 688.
Sales of diesel locomotives were up 11% to 362, with a 12% increase in in shunting locomotives to 146.
The number of electric freight locomotive sections sold was up 78% at 475, while passenger electric locomotive sales were up 90% to 40.
